Able is NDIS support for adults around Lake Macquarie and Newcastle who want someone who listens the first time. Community access, support at home, and support coordination, from a small team, so you get the same faces each week.
Why we’re called Able
Able means we’re able to help you.
Not a promise that everything is possible. A promise that we’ll work outside the box and try everything we can, and that if we can’t do something we’ll tell you straight up rather than sending someone anyway.
Anita started as a support worker, and she started Able because of the things she watched other providers do. Filling a shift because the shift needed filling. Saying choice and control and not meaning it. Sending the same worker back after someone had said three times that it wasn’t working.
What we do

Who turns up
Eight people. You’ll know all of their names.
Anita, Rachel, Ariana, Bec, Deb, Katrina, Veronica and Amber. Between them: thirty years in the industry, a psychology degree, ten years in public health, and a founder who still does support coordination herself.
Small is the point. It’s why the same person comes back next week.

Where we work
From the lake to Tea Gardens.
We're based at Eleebana and we cover a real patch: Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Maitland, up to Port Stephens and down to the northern end of the Central Coast. If you're near the edge of that, ask anyway.
Newcastle
We're a Lake Macquarie business and Newcastle is our back yard. Merewether to Mayfield, Hamilton to Wallsend.
Hunter region
Maitland, Cessnock, Kurri, Rutherford and the towns in between. Distance is a scheduling problem, not a reason to say no.
Central Coast
We work the northern end: Doyalson, Budgewoi, Toukley and around the lake, and we're there most weeks.
Port Stephens
Raymond Terrace, Nelson Bay, Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest. The far edge of our patch, and still ours.
