The NDIS
The bits people actually ask about.
No jargon and no sales pitch. If you want to ask something that isn't here, ring and ask it.
How your plan is managed
Three ways, and we work with all of them
This is usually the first question, because it decides who you're allowed to use.
Agency managed
The NDIA pays providers directly. You can only use registered providers, and we are one, so we can support you.
Plan managed
A plan manager pays the invoices for you. You can use registered and unregistered providers. We invoice your plan manager and you never handle money.
Self managed
You pay providers and claim it back. Most flexibility, most paperwork. We invoice you directly and keep it simple.
Questions
Straight answers, including the no.
What does registered actually mean?
It means we're audited against the NDIS Practice Standards and overseen by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Anyone can be a provider. Not everyone chooses to be audited, and agency-managed participants can only use those who are.
Do I need to know what I want before I call?
No. Most people ring because something isn't working, not because they've mapped out a service list. Tell us the problem and we'll tell you which part of the plan it sits under.
Can you help if my plan doesn't cover what I need?
Often, yes, but not by pretending it does. Sometimes it's a different line in the plan. Sometimes it's evidence for your next review. Sometimes it's a workaround nobody has thought of yet. We'll be honest about which one it is.
Can I use you just for support coordination?
Yes, and plenty of people do. There's no expectation you use us for anything else, and we'd rather coordinate honestly than quietly steer you toward our own services.
What if it isn't working out?
Tell us, early. The thing Anita started this business over is providers who don't listen until someone threatens to leave. If we can fix it we will, and if we can't we'll help you move.
Still stuck
Ask a real person on the phone.
You don’t have to be a participant, and we don’t charge for a conversation.
